NAME THAT FILM – And Both Actors
Name that Classic - Easy
I was thinking about one of my favorite films from the 1980s - and one that featured the that-explains-it-all line on sexual orientation, “Your dick knows what it likes.” But I suspect that the film is somewhat forgotten. And the great mystery of the film is the actor on the left who says the immortal quote – he was magnetic in the film, but seems to have disappeared from view.
QUEER FILM FESTIVAL SEASON BEGINS

The GLBT film festival season is in small swing (Miami, Boston, Toronto have already played out) but begins in earnest this month and next with the Big Four: San Francisco (www.frameline.org - June 16-26); Los Angeles‘s Outfest (www.outfest.org - July 7-17); Philadelphia‘s QFest (www.qfest.com – July 7-18); and New York‘s Newfest (www.newfest.org – July 21-28.)
Each has their own personality and selections – Frameline, the Big Daddy, seems to select all the big titles of the year while still featuring obscure docs, with screenings of many trans films that never seem to play anywhere else. Outfest is the pop, younger, sunnier festival with stars, outdoor screenings and a younger approach to its selections. QFest, through its association with TLA Gay, offers a lot of edgier selections the other fests pass, a strong smattering of adult films and guests from the porn world. New York, with its new dates is now struggling to find it place – we’ll see what they come up with this year, but their association with Lincoln Center is a good start.
The hot titles? Longhorns, Judas Kiss, Going Down in La-La Land and eCupid are the four not-to-miss titles.
